Introducing AirWatch Protection Agent v1.0 for Windows 8.1

We are excited to announce the AirWatch® Protection Agent for Windows 8.1 v1.0 will be publicly available during the
month of November. The AirWatch Protection Agent is an Endpoint Protection Client that allows for the configuration of
key security policies. With the AirWatch Protection Agent, administrators are able to remotely enforce BitLocker
encryption, configure the device firewall, and configure how Windows Updates are installed.

Key Features of AirWatch Protection Agent for Windows 8.1
Configure native BitLocker Encyrption
  • o Specify encrytable volumes.
    o Store the Recovery Key in AirWatch Admin Console.
Configure Firewall Settings
  • o Configure Guest, Public, and Private Networks settings including:
    • • Enable/Disable Firewall.
      • Enforce Windows Recommended Settings.
      • Block all incoming connections.
      • Notify user when the Firewall blocks a new app.
• Configure Windows Update Settings
  • o Choose the source for Windows Automatic Update whether it is Microsoft or a Corporate WUS.

    o Select installation methods for Important Updates including:
    • • Automatic download and installation.
      • Automatic download with manual installation.
      • Automatic check for updates but manual download and install.
      • Never check for updates.
  • o Select the installation method for Recommended Updates

    o Allow other Microsoft products to be updated when updating Windows

Publish the AirWatch Protection Agent from the Agent Application Menu in 7.3 FP2
