Gmail and Android 8.0

We have a Silverback user that received a new Google Pixel running android 8.0 and when we try to enroll them into Silverback the GMAIL install fails. From the console we get "Exchange Application Installation could not be queued. Please inspect system logs for errors. - com.google.android.gm" and from the logs we see the below entry.

The phone does enroll but the GMail app will not install thus the client gets not company email or calendar. If we look on the phone under app portal > all apps, we see Gmail listed but there are no options to install or remove (Gmail is already on the phone). If we open the properties of the app in the app portal we see a message "Your Adminstrator has not accepted permissions for this item". Is this an Android 8/Silverback issue or is there something new needed for the Pixel and android 8.0?

Our Samsung safe and standard Android 7.0 users are not having any issues. Afw. Adding Exchange app to device 90 install error: { "error": { "errors": [ { "domain": "androidenterprise", "reason": "appPermissionsNotAccepted", "message": "Can't grant an entitlement for the app because the app permissions haven't been accepted." } ], "code": 403, "message": "Can't grant an entitlement for the app because the app permissions haven't been accepted." } }

M apologies for the delayed response. I received a message from support that this is a known problem with the Android 8 mobile OS. The work around is to preinstall the GMAIL app from the PlayStore and then enroll the device. From my understanding this issue has been added to the "fix" list by the development team. Lucky for us we only have the one android 8 device at the moment so the work around is ok, for now.
