Create Selfextracting Agent.exe

Hello,

We have created a seflextracting exe file from the Advanced Agent. It works fine.
the only thing that is the trouble is that it does not set the registry key for the agent.
During installation the key is set but afterwards its removed.
We would like to use the exe to distribute the agent through a login script, the script does a check on the registrykey

hclm\software\matrix42\Empirum agent\14.1

Any ideas what this could be? We would like to go live next thuesday

It is not a good idea to use this as a checkkey because it is probably interfering with the keys used by the Empirum Agent.
Use any other key like HKLM\SOFTWARE\MySection\MyCheckKey

i've created another checkkey. But still sometimes the regkey for the agent is not set 14.1

Oh - you are talking about the ProductKey, not the CheckKey?
Then the setup did not finish successfully.
Run the Setup.exe manually on the client with admin right to see any error messages.

Yes I was talking about the Agent\14.1 entry. During installation its there but afterwards its gone.
Well the strange thing is that by hand it works fine. And its not on all the machines some of the machine are running correctly. And on all the machines I can see the icon near the clock of the agent.

If the Agent is working I suggest you assign the Empirum Agent package to any client.
If the regkey is there it will not install the package.
If the regkey is missing it will reinstall the Agent from the package and will create either the regkey correctly or pass on an error message (setuperrolog) to the console.
