Boot/BZImage

Post by ctearney » 28. Nov 2016, 17:58

for the past 2 EPE updates I have not been able to use them as the I get an error "Loading /boot/BZImage...faild. No such file or directory". If I roll back to 4.2.8 things work properly. I am using both the PXE boot and USB boot methods and neither works under 4.3.0 or 4.3.1.

I noticed in the change notes for 4.3.0 that BZImage was removed. Is there a requirement that I am missing or has the process changed for updating the EPE?

A quick addition to my previous note. I had been using the same process that we had been using with version 4.2.8 which is leaving the BIOS set to Legacy Boot on the systems. I had not tried to use UEFI.

I changed the bios settings on two test systems so that UEFI was enabled and tried again. This time when I boot off of a configured USB Key I can get one system to work but the second did not. The second system (Dell e7240) did work however if PXE booted.

So it appears that 4.3.1 works but only with UEFI mode. Is this the intended result?

For those that may care, EPE 4.3.2 works and does not have the issues I seen in 4.3.0 and 4.3.1. Looks like a new 4.3.3 version is out so off to try it.
