Guten Tag,
mit dem Veröffentlichen von Windows 10 1903 scheint die automatische Installation von 1809 über Patchmanagement nicht mehr zu funktionieren, da das PM nur die neueste Version für relevant hält. Wir würden aber gerne noch eine Weile auf 1809 bleiben, haben aber noch nicht alle Rechner auf Stand. Gibt es eine Trick , Workaround dafür? Ich habe mir jetzt testweise damit beholfen, dass ich die Iso in ... 1903.iso umbenannt habe, befürchte aber, dass das System nun immer wieder die Installation startet.

ich habe von dem Support den Hinweis auf die Variable Install_Last_Approve_Predecessor bekommen, leider lässt es sich bei meiner Installation nicht auf einen anderen Wert als "no" oder leer einstellen. Mit dem Umbenennen des ISOs lassen sich zwar ältere Installationen upgraden, es läuft aber auch auf vorhandenen 1809 Installationen durch und setzt so einige Einstellungen zurück. Außerdem wird bei der Installation das Windows.old Verzeichnis als Backup erstellt, verbraucht also entsprechend Speicherplatz, ohne wirklich etwas zu ändern.

Hallo,

eine Installation von Vorgängern ist nur für solche Elemente möglich, die auch einen entsprechenden Vorgänger im Katalog in der Spalte "Ersetzt durch" haben. Dies ist bei allen Service Packs nicht gegeben. Daher ist eine automatische Installation über die Vorgängerfunktionalität nicht möglich.
Eine Möglichkeit besteht jedoch darin, dass Sie die PM-Variable "SCANTYPE" auf den Wert "Scan for Missing and Installed patches With diregard Supersedence" für die betreffenden Computer zu stellen. Anschließend noch mal scannen und dann wird auch das entsprechende Service Pack erkannt. Siehe auch angehängten Screenshot.

Achtung:
Es werden alle Patches und Service Packs erkannt, deren Installtion theoretisch möglich ist, sofern freigegeben und zugeordnet.

Hallo,

noch ein kleiner Nachtrag zu meinem vorherigen Post.

Es geht auch ohne die Variable SCANTYPE zu verändern.

Einfach das aktullste Service Pack 1903 freigeben und in die Testgruppe einfügen.
Das Vorgänger Service Pack 1809 dann freigene und in Include einfügen.

Nur wenn auch die höhere Version des Service Packs freigegeben und dem Computer zugewiesen ist (Test), dann wird der Vorgänger installiert.

Probieren sie es mal aus.

gut zu hören, dass es jetzt funktioniert hat.

Haben Sie auch meinen Post gelesen, bei der ich beschreibe, wie es auch ohne die Anpassung der Variable funktioniert?
(Zuweisung in eine Testgruppe)?

Hallo,

wo liegt denn die iso für 1903, die sie umbenannt haben? Bzw wo ist der Speicherort für die Servicepacks? Habe eine Suche danach gestartet, aber das zieht sich.

eine Frage habe ich noch. Ich konnte das Pack wie beschrieben installieren. Vielen Dank nochmal!
Es wird nun aber immernoch als "Missing" angezeigt.
Hätte da Jemand eine Idee dazu?

Hallo,

es handelt sich hierbei um ein bereits bekanntes problem, welches sich aktuell in Arbeit befindet.
Es wird dafür demnächst ein entsprechender Hotfix bereitgestellt.
